Miyake Cooking in K-1

K-1’ers cooked with Portland’s famous chef and Waynflete parent Mr. Chieko Miyake on Thursday. The K-1 Japanese feast was quite a spectacular for students and teachers alike. K-1 made cucumber rolls with Mr. Miyake and K-1 mom, Makiko Nagae.They also made Dango (which is a mixture of Mochiki flour and tofu that is boiled) and served with Anko (red bean paste).  They enjoyed some barley tea to top it all off!
