Benefits of Early Learning in Nature

A recent article in The Atlantic supports the value of spending time in nature for young learners. The article entitled Kindergarten, Naturally: Pine Needles and Crackling Fires replace whiteboards and desks in Finland’s Forest Classrooms describes some of the significant cognitive and whole child benefits of learning in the outdoors. Schools such as these have inspired our EC and K-1 programs to commit more time to outdoor learning.
