The entire Waynflete community gathered in the big gym this morning to welcome master musician Wu Man to the stage. Wu Man is touring the US and performing at USM’s Hannaford Hall tonight. She is a world famous performer and we were fortunate to invite her to campus. Lower School hosted the assembly and 4-5 students introduced our guest and asked her questions collected from all programs.
Parents of incoming 2-3 and 4-5 students met with teaching teams on Wednesday night to learn about the program’s their children will enter next fall. Student transition experiences will begin this May as we prepare students for the exciting changes ahead.
4-5 students designed and created Chancay Burial Dolls as an outgrowth of their study of Incan civilizations in Peru. They are on display outside the LS Art Studio.
An EC student played harmonica while we sang “Home on the Range” at Pachanga today as EC shared its grasslands study with Lower School.
4-5 and K-1 buddies played a game of 100’s today on the playground. Buddy pairs had to find different activities that involved a hundred – 100 swings, hops, jumps, etc. Buddies then mapped what they completed.
K-1 students played a blindfold drawing game to learn Spanish vocabulary with Señor Dan this morning.
2-3 delved into work plans this morning. Students tackled word problems, practiced phonics and handwriting, and completed journal entries.
