Today, the entire Lower School gathered in the Big Gym to celebrate Family Pachanga. We began our time together singing the “Banana Song,” moved to “Boom-di-adda,” the “Anchor Song” (an EC orginal), and then “Yellow Submarine,” before celebrating birthdays and singing “Ain’t Nobody Here but us Chickens,” “Mi Gallo,” and “This Land is Your Land. 2-3 teacher Michaela then led a rousing rendition of the “Popcorn Song” before our finale, a beautiful round in three parts of “Dona Nobis Pacem.” After a Thanksgiving message from Geoff, we concluded Family Pachanga with “Simple Gifts.”
Both the newness and ritual of Pachanga are worthy of appreciation and celebration. I hope that whether this Pachanga was a parent’s first or twentieth (it was for some!), one left feeling thankful for being a part of this vibrant and caring Lower School community. See you at the next Family Pachanga on Wednesday, March 4th!
